How Can I Protect Myself From Online Interactions in Rocket League App-🏦 🍬Rocketleague App🏦 🍬

Rocket League is rated E for Everyone. However, Online Interactions are not rated by the ESRB. In Rocket League, those Online Interactions include:

Player Usernames

User-Generated Content: (Club Names, Tournament Names, etc.)

In addition to the player controls listed below, you can set parental controls through the Epic Games Account Portal or your preferred gaming platform. For more info check out: Parental Controls

It’s often helpful to communicate with teammates in Rocket League. If you’d like to limit online interactions, we have a feature that allows players to communicate using only preset messages called Quick Chat. This eliminates the risk of seeing inappropriate language from other players in-game.

To enable the use of Quick Chat only, players can adjust their settings in the following ways:

Select Settings from the Main Menu

Select the Chat tab

Click the dropdown menu next to the Match Chat setting

Select Allow Text Chat with Nobody (Off)

Click the dropdown menu next to the Party Chat setting

Select Allow Text Chat with Nobody (Off)

With these settings disabled, players should only be able to see the preset messages allowed by the game.

If you’re a child with parental controls, you may have limited access to Text Chat.

In-Game Voice Chat

Just like Text Chat, Players also have the option to disable Voice Chat by following the steps below

Select Settings from the Main Menu

Select the Chat tab

Click the dropdown menu next to the Voice Chat setting

Select Allow Text Chat with Nobody (Off)

Additionally, players can keep their preferred Voice Chat settings and mute individual players instead. To do this:

While in-match, open your Friends List

Navigate to the Voice Channels tab

Click on the player you'd like to mute

Select Mute

If you’re a child with parental controls, you may have limited access to Voice Chat.

Reporting and Blocking Players

Player’s may run into teammates or opponents that may violate Rocket League’s Code of Conduct.

You can block players through the in-game Friends List. Once you block a player, you will no longer receive notifications from them and your online presence will not be visible to them. Please note, blocking players will also mute messages and voice chat.

Blocked players will appear in the Blocked Players list within the Friends List menu. You can unblock players by selecting them from your Blocked Players list and choosing the Unblock Player button. Remember that you may still be friends with this player through your platform’s Friends List.

Reporting or Blocking Players In-match

Open the Menu

Select Report Player/Block Player

Select Report next to the player’s username

Select one or more of the Reporting Reasons

If you’d like to block a player after reporting them, select Block next to the player’s username

Player Usernames

Players with parental controls will only see Epic Display Names from other players. Players between 13-18 years old can disable this feature and allow their display name to be seen by others.

User-Generated Content: (Club Names, Tournament Names, etc.)

Players with parental controls will not be able to create clubs, tournaments, private matches, or custom training. They can participate in other players’ creations.
